MACKENZIE
MCINTYRE
My love for design began with fashion, which led me to pursue a Bachelor of Design at Toronto’s Ryerson University. There, a typography class sparked my passion for graphic design, and Oak + Ember was born—crafted in the evenings and weekends while completing my degree.
Living a life filled with creativity and purpose is what makes me happiest, and I’ve realized that my true passion lies in partnering with other creatives to craft unique brand identities that bring big dreams to life. I’m obsessed with uncovering the little details that make each business special, and I approach every project with intention and care, creating personalized brand experiences that honour your story and connect deeply with your audience.
Designer, storyteller & lover of all things creative.

Oak + Ember began quietly, almost by accident, with a logo for a friend’s blog while she completed her dietetics degree. When others started asking who had designed her brand, I took the gentle nudge to heart and shared my work on Instagram. What started as a small side project quickly blossomed into something I am endlessly passionate about. I often joke that it fell into my lap, but it has become my dream to help creative entrepreneurs bring their visions to life—and I feel grateful to do this work every day, for as long as I get to.

I’m happiest exploring the little joys in life: wandering antique shops on a quiet Sunday, brunch at a quaint cafe, nights in with a glass of wine and charcuterie with my girlfriends, soaking up the sun at the beach, or hunting for the perfect thrifted pieces for my home. I love diving into true crime documentaries, binging RuPaul’s Drag Race, curating playlists for long drives, discovering my favourite new restaurants, and traveling to new places. I also have a soft spot for interior design, Greek mythology, astrology, and of course, an espresso martini never hurts ;)

I find inspiration in the details and textures that tell a story—organic illustrations, the whimsical elegance of Schiaparelli, and the lines and curves of striking furniture design and architecture. Handwritten letters, typography on old book spines, and the thrill of discovering a weird, one-of-a-kind item at the thrift store spark my creativity. I’m drawn to layered textures, deep, warm colour palettes, natural materials, and anything with a sense of history or personality. Whether it’s a moody restaurant, a quiet forest walk, or a well-curated antique shop, I’m constantly observing, collecting, and dreaming of ways to bring these inspirations into my work.
